Ike Gauntlet with 17,000 lbs.
I am confused! Perhaps someone can explain.
In 2013 with the 6.7 Cummins 850 ft lb engine takes longer to do the Ike Gauntlet with a 17,000 lb trailer than it did in 2014 with a 19,000 lb trailer?
What gears did the 2013 have? I looked and listened, and missed it if it is noted. Day to day weather would also have an effect. Chris
While the hardware may have been the same, there have been numerous updates for the engine and transmission between the beginning of '03 and the current '04's. - Me_AgainExplorer III

hmmmm, missed that, but didn't pay a lot of attention to the details. The trucks are identical except, from what I understand the 14' Ram had the mythical rear air suspension....which wouldn't make any difference. Again, the 13 and 14 3500 dually's are identical in every way except for the air suspension.....which isn't on anyones 14' 3500 dually that I'm aware of on this forum or the cummins forum....(oh, except for the one poster who stated he had it on his truck and has never come back to prove it out:)). - RCMAN46ExplorerIke Gauntlet with 17,000 lbs.

I really think it's hard for some to face the fact that RAM has stepped up and surpassed their competition on many levels.
True medium duty engine/transmission best exhaust brake best towing with upgrades to back up their claims (not just increasing numbers) comfortable quiet ride top quality interiors all that with the best pricing apples to apples. The list goes on.
There are more important things to think about than HP and torque.
somebody let it go and enjoy what we have at this time.
chevman - Me_AgainExplorer IIIFor some reason GM is reluctant to continue in the HP and torque race. Could be Allison 1000 is close to its reliability limit, because I do not believe it is the Duramax. RAM also went to a larger AAM rear diff for the 385/850 Aisin package and improved cooling system.
My guess if they (GM) jump back in it will include a bigger or improved tranny and the larger AAM rear diff.

I was thinking the more powerful dodge engine torque has something to do with the results, am I wrong. It is ok with me as it is all good.

HP gets to the top first not torque! Chris - larry_barnhartExplorerI was thinking the more powerful dodge engine torque has something to do with the results, am I wrong. It is ok with me as it is all good.
