I can get an incredible deal on a new Ram 3500 SRW, 6.7 Cummins, but it does not have the Aisin tranny.
My bigger concern over the tranny would be that the truck is a SRW 1 ton truck towing a 16K load with a pin weight approaching 4K. Personally, I view that like bringing a pocket knife to a gun fight. If yer buying the SRW 1 ton truck just because it's a great deal, drop that sucker like a cheap prom dress and save for a DRW. But, if you have to settle for a SRW 1 ton truck for whatever reason, I'd buy that sucker, save some money, and run'er till the tranny or TQ Converter blows up!!! Then install a Mac Daddy "SunCoast", "ATS" or some such other overbuilt tranny and TQ Converter and run'er till that one blows. You may find you'll get 200K+ miles out of the OEM tranny anyhow if maintained properly and you take care of it. Cared for properly, that truck should be the last truck you ever have to buy. That is until you discover she's over her weight carrying capacity as a SRW. Then you get to drop another $50K+ on another truck. Only the next truck will be the DRW truck you should have bought in the first place. Good luck.
Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)
