Those terms have been obsolete for at least 30 years- I can't quite figure out why we won't stop using them since they are virtually meaningless. My Jetta has a payload of 1100 pounds, and my 2500HD has a payload of almost 2 tons.
See, your Volkswagen has more payload capacity than some dodge rams. :)
