With so many different configurations and packages available today, you have to look deeper than the fender badge to know what you're looking at.
My 2002 F250 7.3L diesel (crew cab 4x4 short bed) had a whopping payload of ~1400lb. A modern F150HD can boast several hundred more than that.
Even my current 2008 F250 gasser has a payload of 2464lb, which IIRC an F150HD can approach or even eclipse in certain trims.
