I have to agree that the ram 1500's down fall is the payload numbers. The boss has given me a green light to replace the 3/4-ton truck as we sold our toys but I am torn on RAM vs Ford. On the one hand I feel the ford is a more "future proof" build with max towing max payload. I love the interior of the RAM without a doubt more, along with the 8-speed / Hemi.
Up here a left over 2013 Ford Ecoboost FX4 crew cab, max towing package is going for 36,500 and the RAM Big Horn with almost all options is going for about the same. Problem is the RAM has 1300lb payload, Ford is around 1,700.
Co-worker and his buddy both bought the new GMC Sierra 1500's, they are impressive but from my stand point they didn't change much on the interior compared to my current truck. They have this weird clicking sound when you stand next to them, dealer advised it was "injectors" which I thought was odd. They are nice trucks, have the payload of the Fords with pretty dang good power / mileage as well. Just not enough of a change.
If I go through with it I will most likely end up in a Ford as of right now, I'm not completely sold yet on either one.
