My experience was the polar opposite. I thought the new 4.3 had plenty of power. One thing I have noticed is the new gas GDI's are much noisier than past fuel injection technology. It's some how a byproduct of direct injection.
Funny, new diesels sound like old gassers and new gassers sound like old diesels.
