We picked up a 2015 GMC 2500HD with the Duramax. Couldn't believe how quiet it was inside the cab. Nothing like the old diesels..Drives like a dream!!
Did you get the 18" or the 20" wheels? I am trying to decide which way to go.
For heavy hauling or towing you will have more tire options with the 18" wheels. The larger rims will mean shorter sidewalls ("low profile") which can in theory improve MPG as sidewall flex kills fuel economy in general, but also makes the tires less impact resistant should you hit something at speed. I say in theory as though this works for big rigs where reducing fuel usage by 1% is worth doing, it is not that important for pickup truck users.
Check out the payload ratings on the trucks on the dealer's lot that have 18 and 20 inch rims and see if there is a difference. With GM it is so great that there is not payload rating provided with the 20" wheels. Also check out the Toyo and Nitto and BFG and other tires and see what is available for 18" and 20" rims and the max load capacity you can get.
