I don't know if the "seat of the pants" test drive dyno can be trusted to equate to actual pulling performance.
The GM twins certainly give up some power to both Ram and Ford on paper. They however do very well on the pull offs, if they don't win, they are very competitive.
I think the power that the Twins actually put to the ground is very close to the other two. Due to a number of potential setup differences between them, Ford may "feel" faster and it may actually be fractionally faster, but put a trailer behind both of them and the differences in performance seem to be very slight.
The new GM HD's are getting popular here, and dam they look good. I have been considering a purchase as well. After looking at the different comparisons done between the three, it does not appear to me that the GM power deficit translates into a deficit on the highway. However if the rumor is true they will be offering a "powered up" version of the Duramax in 2016. While I don't think I need the power, I believe that the more powerful version may be more desirable when resold and I don't "need" to update now, I just want to.
