both Dodge and Ford still offer a solid front axle, this in my mind is the reason why they ride slightly rougher BUT they are also much more stable while towing than anything with an IFS in my experience. Worthwhile trade off.
You really can't buy a bad truck from the big three, pick the one you like best.
