2015 duramax DEF range

Question

Question about my 2015 GMC 2500 duramax, I had herd and read on-line that the DEF on newer duramax trucks got about 3500miles per tank, I am at 3800miles on my first tank and still have not got a low warning on my D.I.C,800 of these miles have been towing, So my question is how many miles do you guys average with the DEF fluid?

Empty I get about 5000 miles before needing to add DEF. Towing, it will use more.Rich

My D-Max sucks down the DEF when towing, much more than when not towing.

Not sure where you found 3500mi online but I would say that is probably worst case if you always tow.  Running empty most get 5-6000 miles on a full ~5.5 gal tank.

you should use 2 to 4 % of fuel burn

Agree with other comments.  I get somewhere around 1k miles per gallon of DEF.  Enough that I don't worry about it much and just stop and fill it befor I take a long trip (&gt;1k miles)
