2015 F350

What year is that?

This one ran as a hotshotter and never saw any fuel additives it's entire life. Turbo and water pump was replaced.

If your cummins starts consuming oil because of carbon buildup from the EGR and causing ring jacking... Valvoline got you covered with some ~$80/gallon oil.

The 6.7 Power Stroke does not require oil additives. Just simply follow the Oil Change Minder and when it tells you its time to change the oil, then you can experience a very easy and enjoyable oil change process and not have to remove intakes or deal with working around that tiny hole in the fender just to remove a simple oil filter.

The 6.7L PSD is light years ahead of the previous 2 diesels in the Super Duties, but I would recommend you look under the hood of that truck you are considering and then under the hood of your Ram. You can then be the judge of the cost difference of potential engine repairs. If you are going to buy the Ford I would recommend using the Ford recommended fuel additive, buy fuel in high volume stations only and keep your receipts.

JMHO after owning 3 Fords over 20 years, 2 of them diesels.

??????? I have owned Ford Powerstrokes since 1994 and currently own a 2014 6.7 I bought new and I have NEVER put anything in my fuel, ever. All my trucks ran into the 2 to 4 hundred thousand miles without any proplems other than regular maintaince.

Buy it !!!!!!! I have a 2014 and it has never had a problem and it is a power house . 18 to 21 mpg empty. 11 to 14 pulling a trailer. The 6.7 does not need special oil Ford only wants you to put in the correct oil !! Great trucks !!

new diesel fuel being low sulfur doesn't help lubricate the fuel pumps, adding a treatment will just use caution as some will help allow any water in the separator to pass through.

my previous 2011 6.7 had over 110k miles and zero issues, my current 2016 has just turned 29k miles and zero issues. my trucks do almost all highway whether empty or towing and nearly no idle time, idling is not good for any of the new diesels. I do oil/filter changes every 5k running dino oil and fuel filters every 10k miles, also I do add treatment.

I don't think you can go wrong with any modern diesel, but yes there are some lemons in all brands.

A little late to the party but our 2015 F350 dually Platinum has been great for us. It tows our hauler without any issues. We don't have a ton of miles on it as it's basically used for towing the hauler and a few short errands, but as a 5'3" woman, I feel comfortable driving it too.

ETA: We get around 9mpg while towing. Our trips mostly consist of here in CO and Wyoming... so lots of wind and mountain grades. 14-15 around town not towing.
