350 vs 450. Just went through this, the 450 won me over. I never intend to tow over 20k so either would have worked and either will work with my current 5th wheel. The 350 had additional payload which would have been great for the TC but in the end the price difference I was able to negotiate between the two basicallly had me paying for the 19.5 upgrade (about 3k). Both the 350 and 450 I was negotiating on had the 4.33 rear end so they'd both get about the same MPG. So for the cost of 19.5 wheels and tires (which I always wanted to put on my 05 Ram) I ended up with a much better front end that turns about as well as my Grand Cherokee plus upgraded suspension components a few other upgraded components and maybe even some upgraded brakes if we can ever get a straight answer out of Ford. Some ford docs say the brakes are the same as the 350 and some say the 450 shares the same brakes as the chassis version. This was a non issue for me since both were an improvement over my 05 Ram. If they turn out to be bigger, great. If not oh well.
So far I'm very happy with the 2015 F-450. She pulls better than my old 05 Ram and the stopping power is in a different league all together even with the exhaust brake on the Ram.
