2015 GMC Sierra Denali-catastrophic fuel pump failure

I know this is a known issue but the consumer should not be on the hook for this.
Maybe I'm in a fantasy land but a 2015 truck should not need a $12K repair.
If there was no negligence or vandalism involved
The consumer needs more protection than that. The trucks are too expensive to not be built to withstand the current fuel standards. There is a major flaw in the entire system!
