2015 Ram 3500 6.7 air filter

I'm sorta stumped. I ordered a Mopar filter for my truck off Amazon and it's about 4 inches too long for the air box. The only part number I find for my truck is 53034051AB. Anyone else have any insight into this?

  • Did you see if the new filter will fit in the air box? Geno's Garage sells a filter that is longer then the stock filter. Not sure why the old filter is shorter then the new one if you took the number from the old filter though.

Maybe stop by a Dealer and ask to see what filter they have for your truck.

  • Guess the only thing left to do is pull the old one, get the # off it, and order a new one. Good luck!
  • So what would make the air filter box on your '15 6.7 smaller than my totally stock '09 6.7? Is your 6.7 totally stock, no mods whatsoever? Geno's Garage lists the 53034051AB part # you ordered as the one for model year '07.5 - '17, 6.7L.
  • It was OEM with the part number stamped right on it. I went outside and pulled my old one and thought it looked smaller so I held the two up together and there is a sizeable difference. Being the smart guy I am I didn't look to see what the number was on the old filter before I buttoned it back up.
  • That's a good part number. I just replaced my '09 CTD air filter with MOPAR Part # 53034051AB. I purchased it at a RAM dealer. Was the filter you received an OEM or aftermarket? Or maybe they just sent the wrong one.
