May not tow anything. We're thinking daily driver. By the time you buy a smaller suv...or a car... you might pay more than you would for a similarly equipped truck. A truck has more capabilities than say a Traverse or Explorer.

You might compare a Toyota Tundra to it and see. Both daughters bought Tundra for better overall vehicle.

I agree with the idea of going right to a full size. We've mostly had Suburbans. We had a mid-size SUV for 8 years and I'm so glad we went back to a full size truck.

We have an '08 Sierra, my mom and her husband last year bought a '14 Silverado. Love these trucks. My wife loves driving ours. And mileage isn't that bad either. I get 17 in the city pretty easily and it's just the 4 speed, and my mom is getting pretty much the same. It's going to depend a bit on driving style. As a daily driver we find it just as practical as any other vehicle we've ever owned.

Yes, compare to an F150, Tundra, and a RAM. We found out of all of them the Silverado/Sierra and F150 interiors were the most comfortable. Out of the 4 the Tundra seems really outdated on the inside. The RAM has a beautiful interior but uncomfortable seats. But that's my take on it.

I don't own a 2015, but I have had a series of Silverados and love them. The 5.3 is bullet proof. It's great for a daily driver.

I have a 2015 Silverado LTZ although it's a HD. Previously had a 2010 Ram and a 06 F-150 before that. Of the 3 the Ram had by far the best seats and dash layout. Ford seats were the worst. Chev interior is nice but not up to the Chrysler level of comfort. I dislike the way some of the driving controls and functions are awkward and require more steps to get where you want to be with the Chev. On the plus side it's better looking (in my opinion) very quiet even for a diesel, fit and finish is nice. Quality materials inside. Not a lot of gaudy add-ons on the outside. Of the 3 I like it the best..

I have a 2015 3500HD Silverado LTZ crew cab with 8' bed and single rear wheels. It is the Deep Ocean Blue color. I love this truck. I have found that many other people love it too. I have never had so many compliments on one of my vehicles from complete strangers -- not even my 1969 GTO convertible.

We have a 2004 1500 LT3 Silverado and it has been like driving a Caddy. We are keeping it... has 249k miles on it. Dropped in a new engine at 186k though so that shoots the 5.3 bulletproof theory... but I really like the truck anyway.

We have looked just about everything with wheels. Everything. Went to the big auto show here this spring and checked everything out. Was disappointed that the Colorado did not have the LTZ trim package or might have gone that route.

We started out looking at midsize SUV's.. Traverse, Acadia, Enclave etc.and their size group at the other auto manufacturers. After living in a truck... it felt claustrophobic being in smaller vehicles.

But.. we thought we'd check out the midsize SUV's so we'd have better gas mileage and more space in the garage. The seats in a lot of these vehicles was the deal breaker. We are so used to having the nice 2004 premium seats that we've been disappointed in what passes for "luxury" seats today.

Our truck seats have independent seat back and bottom so that you can not only recline the back... you can tilt the bottom up independently to put the spine in neutral. Our lumbar also included side cushioning that you can pump up to stop side to side sliding around. This is both driver AND passenger!

The 2004 is just a really great truck. We had expected to find improvements in seating in SUV's... and found that the seats were not as cushy as our old truck and in most cases the independent tilt seat bottom was not part of the package anymore. The entire seat reclined and then you had to jockey the back. We almost bought an Enclave... but the seats were too shallow... DH had no support under his thighs and the recliner seats didn't work for my back.

We did like a Caddy SRX premium... but the passenger seat was too shallow and I needed a pillow under my thighs!

So... we finally decided that IF we had to pay a ton of money for a smaller vehicle with less comfort... why not just get a new truck?

It seems that the inflatable side baffles have disappeard. Really like those too.

We looked at some of the asian offerings... really uncomfortable passenger seats and DH wasn't thrilled with the driver side either.

So... we're looking at F150 or Silverado/Sierra.

If the F-150 is on your shopping list I would take a long hard look at it, they are NICE !! I have a 12' Chevy 1500, LTZ Ext cab, I really like it and the dealer has been excellent for the few minor warranty items I had to have repaired but if I was in the market for a 1/2 ton today it would be the Ford.
