I have the same mirrors and bought some aftermarket standard mirrors for $300 for when I'm not towing. Easy to swap out and now I have the best of both worlds.
We're using some strap-on mirrors on my 2003 Tundra, and they do fine. My wife pulls the trailer by herself a lot while I'm off seeing the world on my motorcycle, so I want to keep everything as simple as possible. But we put the tow mirrors on before she leaves, and they stay 'til she gets back. We'll probably just continue that way.
