2015/16 F150 owners, who previously owned 09 - 14 F150....

did you have to make any adjustments on you weight distribution hitch going from your previous F150 to the new body style F150??

Hoping I won't have to make any adjustments and if I do, it will be minimal like a one chain link adjustment.

Otherwise, I may just go to a Blue Ox Sway Pro as I really don't feeling like screwing with readjustment. I'm always working overtime, and will have little time to change the adjustment . Usually anytime I get away from work is with the family and/or going camping. So just hoping.
  • Comparing my 2013 to my 2016 I will guess that you will have to drop the ball one hole on the shank. I can do that in about 10 minutes. Not a big problem.
  • There are several different choices of springs in any given model.

  • I went from a 2012 F150 to a 2016 but had a detour to a 2014 Ram 2500 so I can't help much as I've had to adjust with each. I can tell you that the set up is not the same between what I had on the 2012 and 2016. Both are 2WD crew cabs but hitch set up is different by 1 hole on the shank.
  • That would be me. Just traded my '09 F150 for a 2016 F150. I have not hitched it up to my TT yet. Don't have enough miles on the new truck before I can tow the camper.

I would imagine some adjustments may have to be made for fine tuning the weight distribution system. For one thing, the trail hitch sits about 1" higher on the new truck. But that's just a matter of moving the head assembly down a hole on the hitch shank.

I intend to go through the weight distribution set-up again on my new truck to make sure I the proper weight transfer.
