2016 F250 6.2L gas mileage

Just returned from a round trip from Houston to Hot Springs Arkansas towing the trailer in my sig. 2016 F250 6.2L gasser towing a 2016 Jayflight 27BHS. Trailer, per the Cat scales, weighing in at 6900 lbs. Round trip mileage averaged 8.9 MPG towing at an average of 62 MPH.

Real world mileage for whomever is interested !

Stay safe out there, lots of idiots on the road...
  • I forgot to mention the wind. We fought wind both coming and going on our trip. I estimate 15 to 20 mph winds... not sure how much it affected our mileage but I am sure it knocked it down some !
  • I tow with a 2016 F250 6.2, 4x4, CCSB, with 4.30's. Most of my towing is in the California Mts, many grades 6% for a few miles each. My TT weights in right at 6,000 loaded, and I average right at 9.2. Happy with that and I have plenty of pedal left on the hard pulls. Never considered going to a diesel, too much added costs.
  • As this is a Gas thread... My 2015 F250 6.2L 3.73 gears pulling a 30 foot BH, we get about the same. However north of here are large long grades uphill and we have gotten a little less. We are upgrading to a 5ver. I expect it to be less. However this is the DW around town car and we only tow about 40 nights. Doesn't pay to get a diesel. Maybe when we tow more we would do that, but very happy with this TV.

    Happy Trails
  • My old 7.3 diesel does way better than that. wow. you have a couple Arabs following you with extra fuel?
