The F250 gives you upgraded front springs and a high output alternator. The F150 gives you a button to press which acrivates a plow control relay and deativates many other relays. Not much of a 'plow package'.

That was another thought. Or a used Jeep with a plow. Honestly I think hubby is looking for a truck that's more manly! :B

Look for an F-350. You're mileage won't change and you'll have more options for plow, TT, or 5er.

I own a 2012 F-250 with 6.2. I get 10.5 in town on commute. 14 on highway. I've gotten 15.5 when entire tank is interstate.

I was shopping used for F-250 or F-350 and found a good deal on a CPO F-250. It's fine for what I want on toy hauler but still wish I'd looked harder or waited for an F-350.

The F-250 would also come in handy for a RV, especially for heading South so you did not have to plow the drive.:B

Thanks, guys. It would be hubby's daily driver when he can't drive his Porsche and wouldn't tow more than a utility trailer on occasion. His commute is decreasing as they are moving his office to another building, and if we can ever find a small enough house where we want to live over the border in NH it will drop to somewhere between 6-15 miles, probably mostly back roads. Therein lies whey we are looking at a plow truck-moving to NH! Mileage is about what I expected. As I said, we love the F150 and are actually looking at an Expedition EL as well (yes, I know we can't plow with that!) but being able to plow a driveway with ease is very attractive.

I was all set to buy a 2016 F250 Crew 4WD XLT 6.2L w/3.73 gears until others here told me how bad the mileage was. Since it's my daily driver that I use to commute 35 miles each way, every day back and forth from work, the mileage killed it for me.

2017 F250s even look better.

Got my 2016 F150 with enough payload and tow rating to pull my camper and I'm all set with 18.5 mpg mixed and up to 22 mpg on the highway.

BTW, my 2012 F150 Crew 4WD XLT 5.0 w/3.73 gears was really reliable. Sorry for your issues.

Mine wasn't a Ford, but my 6.4L Hemi powered Ram would be very similar....
7-9 (usually 8) towing 11-12k
10-14 city
15-18 hwy (wind had a big effect). No wind on the flats I could get 19.

You won't regret buying the HD gasser. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
