I'm seriously considering converting to gasoline or perhaps buying a 100# propane tank (weigh 170lbs full) haul it on the ATV trailer. Saw them Online for $140.00...My propane calc: 100#=24gls+2(7gls camper tanks)=38 gls. Generator .50 gl per hr full load = 76 hrs continues running / 24hrs= 3 days which its an extreme. In practically probably could run for 4 to 5 days in the summer and of course no issues in the winter if furnace is not over used. Got to see the practically of both fuels.
I don't mind paying for the parts conversion. I believe with proper instructions, I can do the work myself. The hassle of running out of propane in the middle of nowhere and no propane to be found is something I can do without. Specially in the middle of summer with no a/c. Yes, I like my creature comfort while "roughing it". lol
I've been installing a few items on the camper and probably will take a short trip with the family to EL Mirage OHV Area next Friday.
I carry 100 lbs of LPG (2x 30 lb and 2x 20lb) in my enclosed trailer in addition to the 60 lbs (2x 30 lb) in my TC. This good for all my generator use, outdoor cooking, external patio heaters and LPG fire pit.
