What do the terms "1/2 ton" "3/4 ton" "won ton" this ton that ton have to do with pickup trucks anyway?
You'll probably get a "ton" of answers from that question. :B

Ya I was wondering if we should start calling our 8 axle super B trucks "The 47 and a 1/2 ton" because that's the payload?
but no wait... lots of "1/2 tons" have bigger payloads than 1000lbs... and "won tons" have more than 2000lbs payload... - goducks10Explorer

I have read where the gas version will not be designated with an "XD".
Too bad if true. The F150 HD would have some competition. An 8800lb GVW 1/2 ton with 400+HP and 400+tq would be a hit IMO. Basically a 3/4 ton light with what should be good CCC.
Or what was "ONCE" called a real 3/4 ton.......excepting this one does not have a 6K ra........
not sure what this should be called, a LD 3/4, HD 1/2 none of the above.....
marty - drittalExplorerFrom what I gather there will be Titan XD with both diesel and gas. This is the truck with a GVWR above 1/2t. Then they will have Titan, which will be a true 1/2t.

There will be.

Seems to be a lot of conflicting information. Are there going to be three variants? I read where the "Titan" will be on the old frame/new body style. So-maybe an XD version of a gas motor on the new frame-and the lesser version on the old frame but with the new body style. So-I guess the "light duty" referred to in the article might be the old frame. - drittalExplorer
