Well prior to Fiat taking over, the 5.9Litre engine was a co-development of Fiat/Cummins. Fiat has the "Tector", Cummins got the 5.9. Now 6.7. Fiats CNH has also a 6.7 litre engine as well. At on stage Fiat was making blocks for Cummins for the Engine. Difference between the Fiat "Tector" and the Cummins ISB is electronics
