Read cover to cover and understand your glove box manual.
Follow the manual's break in procedure and do NOT tow till the rear diff is broken in
Decide on your maintenance schedule and check out the various glove box manual schedules. There are a min of two. Regular and HD (or whatever they call it).
Decide on your level of materials for your maintenance schedule. This and above depends on how long you expect to keep it. Cheap out and let the subsequent owners deal with that
Tires will need to be broken in. Some take several thousand miles to do so
Bed in your braking system's friction material to cast iron
If adding an alarm system, demand ring lug connections. That will cost a bit more, but well worth it down the road
After everything is broken in...I normally/always...check out the limits of handling...including braking. Where your preference to tire PSI and how it handles (including braking...skidding via ABS).
Hook up & check that out before any major trips and ditto check limits of towing
