Aftermarket wheel up grade

I have 97 F53 I'd like to do away with the 16" wheel & move up to a 19.5 wheel has anybody done this & where did they find there new wheels at.
Thank you in Advance
  • A larger wheel will take a larger tire so expect your speedometer and odometer to be off considerably. You could use a good GPS to monitor speed
  • You might check boar wheels. Not sure they are for your application but they are awesome on trailers.
  • Once you consider the cost of 19.5 tires and wheels. Think about the best 235/85R16 tire for your MH. Michelin XPS is the tire Ford picked as OEM, for a reason. The XPS has all steel cord construction and that helps eliminate tire side wall flex. I run nothing but Michelin XPS tires on my coach with never a problem. The drive and handling is good.
You current 235/85R16 tires are 32" in diameter. Try and maintain the diameter if you insist on changing wheel size.

The biggest obstruction might be the front end wheel-well. Do a clock-to-clock turn, having someone make sure there is room for the taller tire.
  • Check the max wheel weight carefully for whatever you choose.
