This was indeed why I chose to stay away. It was unclear (on purpose) what time he would be there, and how the interaction with the public display would take place. I want to make sure that I get see everything in the time that I am there again today.
I once sat on a school bus for 90 minuts (with young children) while President Bush walked the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day. They had stopped all traffic and other walkers while he was on Bridge. Since then, I avoid the unknown consequences.
