If you are trying to calculate and estimate HP. A quarter mile run with trap speed will probably prove more accurate. Zero to 60 has too many variables. An extra gear shift to reach 60 would make a big difference, etc.
I also think the rate at which the fuel is delivered to the various engines, as controlled by the fuel management software, must play a huge role in the 0-60 times. My 03 Duramax, with a high performance tune downloaded, takes off from a brake assisted launch like a bat out of hell.....smoke rolling off the wheels and a bit of black smoke rolling out the exhaust as the truck fish tails all over the road, yet there is no way it would pull a 30,000 lb trailer up a hill the way the new Cummins does.
