Don't plan on drag racing mine anywhere in the near future...if I'd wanted a drag car/truck I'd of bought one!! Not sure what the purpose is to do testing like that, how about testing for haul stability, downhill braking, emergency braking and possibly uphill towing performance as far as tranny down shifting/up shifting and things that really matter for towing when buying a truck.
I think all of this will be addressed during their "Ike Gauntlet" test. These videos are just teasers to build momentum before they conduct and publish the serious testing.
I think most people find the tests interesting but very few seem to allow the results to influence their purchasing decision. I have brothers in law that buy Fords, period. Most people who buy Rams want a Cummins.....the Cummins might be three minutes slower to top of the hill but that's not going to bother those who feel if ain't a Cummins it ain't a diesel. The GM guys seem to buy for the car like handling and sexy good looks.
So if they buy Rams for the Cummins and GMs for handling and good looks, what do they buy Fords for?
In the case of my brothers in law they buy Fords because they want Fords. I bought my first Ford cuz it was a super good deal and my second cuz it was a cheaper than a GM. My next will be cuz they're built Ford tough.
