- 4x4ordExplorer IIIAccording to how the 2017 f450 pulled it's load up the Eisenhower pass the 2017 Powerstroke still wouldn't compete against a 2011 Duramax for pulling power but I'm more than happy with the power of my 2016
- IdaDExplorerI think the biggest difference would be the improved driving dynamics because Ford finally went to a box frame. That old C channel chassis should have been put out to pasture years ago. That said with a bit more power and a bit less weight, the new truck is probably faster too.
- BB_TXNomadThey have upped the HP and torque and reduced the weight by using aluminum, but also beefed up the frame, so towing should be better. Exactly how much for comparison sake would be hard to come by.
- djousmaExplorerI don't think there is a huge difference in power. There have been incremental improvements to the 6.7L in the years 2012-2016, including improved HPFP, better turbo, etc.
What changed in 2017 is the payload/towing ratings. they went up a lot.
