2017 F450 with Fifth Wheel

I'm NOT buying anything, I promise. The 2015 is doing just fine. But I wouldn't be surprised if I don't make the leap in a year or two on a 2018 or so.

But does anyone have a picture of a new F350 or F450 hooked up to a fifth wheel camper? All the pics I can find are hooked up to a gooseneck.

I just want to see how well a fiver sits in the back. Not sure but the new Super Duty beds look awful deep. My 43' long Vengeance still sits just slightly higher on the nose with my 2015 and I have the hitch as low as I can without getting too close to the truck. If I were to get a new Ford and its even higher in the back or I have to raise the hitch, that would look silly.
  • Here is what 2017 F450 wheels look like.

  • Aren't those front rims in the pic F450 rims? I thought the F350 had the reg rims.
  • Stirring this thread back up. I'd still love to see an F450 hooked up to a typical fifth wheel. They seem to be quite tall in the back and that concerns me.

I don't have a pic, but several on the FTE have them. One thing we've realized is that the floor of the trucks are the same height as the previous year models, but the bed sides are 2" higher. So the trailers are not sitting higher in the nose per say, the rigs are just losing 2" of bedrail clearance.

That was a concern. I have my Reese at the mid point and the camper is getting close but I'm still OK. Getting close but still OK also means it sits just a little nose high. If I have to go up on the hitch because the side of the truck is higher, the camper is even higher in the nose than it is now.

That Raptor FishOnOne has posted looks great. But that's a 350.

    I like my mess level.

  • Well put. A jewel indeed. Looks like an F350. Any others out there? I'd love to see an F450, too.
