So with my Platinum I can set CC to normal or adaptive. When I select normal the dic displays "Normal cruise control active. Adaptive braking off."
Even with cruise set to normal when I come to a hill the computer applies the wheel brakes to maintain almost precisley the set speed.
However.... with the 2017 Lariate that I drove today, which doesn't have adaptive cruise, the cruise control does not apply the wheel brakes. It slowly starts picking up speed as it rolls down the hill. When it passes a certain threshold (about 5 mph) it downshifts and activated the exhaust brake.
