Whoever wrote the cruise control software must know that the brakes come on to hold the speed set point. Maybe on a long grade the brakes will release and the cruise will kick off rather than having the brakes maintain the speed till the brake fluid boils and the rotors warp.
I would ask the dealer to disable if at all possible. It's one of those "it sounds like a good idea" but it may not be!
Not sure what the point of that would be. Just don't use cruise control in those situations if that is what is occurring. You disable it by not using it.
