Do all Platinums have AC by default? If so, AlexLeBlanc should see the same behaviour with his 17 Plat F350.
Adaptive Cruise is an option that is only available with the Platinum trim level. Probably most Platinums will have it.
My Lariat has it, but I think it is a rare option in the Lariat trim. I've already seen the collision warning system activate, but haven't played around with the AC system.
You're right, it can be ordered as an option on the Lariate. Because it isn't included in the Lariate ultimate package it likely is rarely ordered on its own. ($740 option).
