It kind of depends how you look at it. In 1993 a loaded diesel crew cab 1 ton listed at about $32000. Now a middle of the road gasoline 1/2 ton would be a nicer, more powerful and more capable truck. I believe a 1/2 ton now is much more affordable to a young family than what a loaded diesel was 25 years ago.
