- spoon059Explorer IIIWow, pretty impressive numbers from Ford. Again, the HP and torque wars don't really do much for me though. I agree with a lot of other posters, longevity of emissions products, increased reliability and less expensive overall cost of ownership and fuel mileage are more important to me.
For those people that need a bigger number to make themselves feel better or somehow more adequate, this is a great truck. Don't forget a lift kit and dual stacks to increase the appearance of your package though... - Greene728Explorer

Good to see they are catching up to the competition.
Or more like the competition after many updates, upgrades, enhancements have finally caught up to the Super Duty so the bar had to be raised. :W
Nice try, but simply not the case. After 2 miserable attempts at Diesel engines they finally may have a good (but extremely complex) one on their hands. I really do like the new design though and believe they will do very well! - Greene728Explorer

How about instead of hearing from the Big 3 advertising arm screaming "HP increased over last year, torque values highest ever" nonsense, we instead hear claims that SCR and DEF failures at a low time low. Or fuel pumps have been fortified to not grenade taking out the complete fuel system. I know that's not to sexy in the PR world but for those of us owning a late model diesel, it's certainly something I'd like to hear.
Bingo! Or improved safety ratings. My 15 Ram pulls like a freight train as is. - minnowExplorerHow about instead of hearing from the Big 3 advertising arm screaming "HP increased over last year, torque values highest ever" nonsense, we instead hear claims that SCR and DEF failures at a low time low. Agree. Why is it necessary to continue to increase the torque and HP on vehicles that have more than enough for the average owner? Being the big boy on the block has become a game of one upmanship. I would like for some of the money spent on these items to reflect a lower cost. Pricing has become insane. The small guy is being driven out of the market and buying these vehicles has become an attempt to sooth egos. - Me_AgainExplorer III

Now that's irony.... there was a Ram ad at the start of the video :)
fwiw, the new Ford diesel looks like a towing beast (and I am a Ram owner :)) If I give up the world of towing with a gasser I'll have to take a long look at that Ford.
Yep, the 6.2 is suppose to be a great engine. - mtofell1ExplorerNow that's irony.... there was a Ram ad at the start of the video :)

What? I read this was the first undercarriage upgrade in 18 years for the super duty. Was I misinformed?
The under carriage changed two or three times in the last 18 years, but the body style remained mostly unchanged. You might want to look at replacement parts and what years they cover to give you an idea of when these changes occurred. - blt2skiModeratorHow is this different in thread specs to other one re HP specs?!?!?!?
