Who's hitch??? For sure not B&W that rates their hitches realistically.
Reese of course. The biggest hitch manufacturer in the world.
OK, should we talk McDonalds now????? Just do an honest comparison to the hitch B&W offers. - 1jeepExplorer IIno doubt, if I had ordered my truck it would have been with the 3:73, but the dealer I bought it from had this on their lot with the 4:30 and wanted it gone.

I wont be trading in my 2016 but am very curious what the price increase will be, I would expect nothing more than improvements as any manufacturer would be targeting with a new model release.
I can see why ford would have changed the f350 drw gearing, the current model must have been cutting into the f450 territory. My truck has the same gearing, gvwr and is rated for a higher cargo capacity than the 450 due to its slightly lower weight. Now if you want/need 4:30 gearing you have no choice but to jump into a 450.
You can now order the DRW 350 with 4.10 gears though. Still a lot of gear for the amount of torque these put out. - 1jeepExplorer III wont be trading in my 2016 but am very curious what the price increase will be, I would expect nothing more than improvements as any manufacturer would be targeting with a new model release.

Lots of guys on FTE forums have already placed their orders and posted pricing.

3:55 gear is a bad mistake for a DRW. Can not wait to get my new 2016 Steel DRW Lariat with a 3:73 gear that is on order. My dealer has 26 Super Duty trucks now and has asked Ford to send him his allocation of 43 more of the 2016 Super Duty Trucks. He is afraid the price of the 2017 will be too expensive to sale. Saw the same thing with the 2014 going to a 2015 F150 aluminum.
The torque increase of the 2017 will offset the difference between the 3.55s and the 3.73s so that's a complete non issue. As far as cost, the increase is not as big as folks thought and people are lining up to order 17's. No issue there either. You ordered a 2016 and your dealer told you that you made the right decision. You're surprised at this? LOL...
No pricing yet from Ford on 2017 - takenExplorer II

2017 Superduty Order Guide
F-350 DRW now have 3.55 rear ends with a 4.10 optional. No more 3.73 for the DRW with diesel. Lots of changes and new packages. Didn't announce HP or torque for engines yet.
HMMM Ford must have been listening to me since I have been saying the 3500 RAM's only need 3.42 and 4.10's. 3.73's are covered on either side.
48 gallon tank, that's a bonus!
A real shame they did not make the puck footprint larger front to back for the drop in 5th wheel hitch. Really limits the realistic tow rating.
That must be why the hitch is only rated at 27.5K.
Who's hitch??? For sure not B&W that rates their hitches realistically.
Oh chit you had to start the hitch topic... cummins #1 soap box. You know he's the marketing arm for B&W.- Cummins12V98Explorer III

Exactly right. The towing capacity will exceed his Fiat and the hitch rating will too. He'll still take pictures of his and post them every chance he gets though. :R
Yes Fords numbers whatever they may be are FINALLY going to be SAE in the 250/350 class not just whatever number Ford want s to attach in a knee jerk response TH the completion. - Cummins12V98Explorer III
