2017 Raptor EcoBoost

Ford just unveiled the next gen Raptor at the Detroit Auto Show. They claim it will have a "next generation 3.5L EcoBoost engine that will be more powerful than today's Raptor V8". Oh, and it also has a 10 speed auto trans :E

IIRC, the current Raptor has a 411hp 6.2L. So I guess they are going to squeeze more than that out of the next gen 3.5L? Wow. Imagine an F150 with a ~425hp EcoBoost and a 10 speed auto. That will be a very quick truck.

  • should really "fly" now with the all new aluminum body... aftermarkets guys are gonna be hard pressed to come up with a new frame strengthening kit that'll be compatible with aluminum. cause we all know someone is gonna want to jump higher and farther then before...

the raptor is a cool truck....but for the $70-$80+ they ask for em up here... I dunno...?
  • Sharp. Still keeps the menacing stance and look that the last gen had.

  • 600HP

Next year the factory will have a 600HP version of the ecoboost.
Its for the GT but I think its interesting a Ecoboost with a warranty can product 600HP .
Ford competion is selling 'tunes ' and this would be perfect in a Raptor

The prior generation Raptor was a heavy beast and not real snappy. But the new aluminum body will shave 500 lbs and help the pwr/wt ratio along with new motor.
