Another interesting change is the 4.8 V8 replacing the 5.0. I'm a huge fan of the 5.0 because of its name recognition and performance. It'll be interesting to see how much better the 4.8 is. I had the 5.0 in a 2013 F-150 and it was powerful, economical, and sounded great.
Read the link, the 5.0L is not being replaced. It is getting the 10 speed trans and the ignition start/ stop feature though.
The 5.0L is a great engine and I prefer it to the 3.5L Ecoboost. It's power is much more consistent and it's even stronger off the line. Ecoboost 3.5L gets stronger in the lower rpms, at the upper gears due to some funky engine control. Maybe the new 2017 3.5L Ecoboost responds differently but for '16, I liked the 5.0L better. - patriotgruntExplorerAnother interesting change is the 4.8 V8 replacing the 5.0. - Mike_UpExplorerIf you go to Fords 2018 F150 site, the new 2018 is essentially just like the 2015 - 2017 F150. They just changed the front and rear end panels just like Ford did on the 2016 Explorer while it's still the same body as the previous year. This is just for the body.
Engines maybe changed slightly but all get the new 10 speed transmission and auto stop/start. New 3.3L engine replaces the 3.5L n/a and the addition of a 3.0L for the Eco minded grocery hauler.
BTW, don't know if anyone noticed how closely rated the 2017 Silverado 5.3L and F150 5.0L are. Their payload ratings are the same if you add the NHT package to the Silverado and their tow ratings are the same if you add the NHT package to the Silverado and 3.73 Locker to the F150.
New 2018 F150 and new 2016 Silverado body styles went toward the uglier side unfortunately. I like the previous Silverado 2014 look and the 2015 look. - mich800Explorer

Didn't they just completely redo the F150 in '17?
No, that was 2015.
Yes, the biggest changes for 2017 are the revised ecoboost, 10 speed, and ecoboost in the raptor. - wompsExplorer

No, that was 2015. - patriotgruntExplorerSorry but someone mentioned rolling back EPA mandates and ethanol in gas is the first thing that comes to mind.
- Dave_H_MExplorer IIWell i have to give the ethanol bashers credit. They sure are competition when it comes to smoke and mirrors and hijacking thread.
- dodge_guyExplorer IIDidn't they just completely redo the F150 in '17?
- kw_00ExplorerWhere I live at I can buy non ethanol fuel. I use it for the 69 truck, all lawn equipment and my ATV.
