2019 Canadian Truck King Challenge

The 6.2 has always been impressive for sure, looking forward in seeing what this new 6.6 gas will do! Thanks for the video.

I'd like to see GM replace the 6.0L in the 3/4 & 1T trucks with the 6.2 or new 6.6L coming out. Both probably have more HP and torque than the 6.0 and would be great if they replaced the 6 speed with an 8 or 10 speed as well. The 6.0 has been a work horse for many years now and is due for a change.

I was just shopping some yesterday and the Etorque was 2 mpg city and 1 highway better than the Hemi MDS.

Hmmm, people are praising the 6.2L for its performance instead of complaining about how expensive the required premium fuel is or how how the inceased fuel mileage will never recoupe the thousands of dollars of upfront costs...... Yet they do that with diesels. Odd :h

Having said that I noticed my neighbor down the street has one of these new GMC Denali's so I'm going to have to go check it out one day. Maybe I'll harass him on how the upgraded cost's of his 6.2 was a waste of money. :E

Our friend has an 2018 Chev High Country with the 6.2. It says on his gas door “premium fuel recommended”. Doesn’t say required. Not sure if the 2019 is the same.

The last 20 years have been pretty entertaining, watching the constant one-upping. We have some awesome choices now days.

That is not what the manual states in order to achieve max power and efficiency.

There were even a few 6.2L owners on here who posted that they had knocking when they ran regular unleaded.

I have never owned a 6.2L in a pickup, I have several friends that have them. They run midgrade, which here is 87 they have never had issue. I have an LSA in my Camaro. I run 91 in that only, we don't have 93 octane here. I don't know what the fall off in mpg is, but unless the pickup can sense the octane level and detunes itself, there is no more energy in a gallon of 91-93 than there is in a gallon of lessor octane. The knocking, that is addressed by the higher octane. I don't know anyone here that has that issue but not to say someone hasn't.
