That's true, the Ford 6.7 diesel engine has been made in Mexico since it's inception. Ford built a factory in Mexico to make the new engine at. That really disappointed me in Ford. Also, the entire Fusion car, which replaced the Taurus when they moved the Taurus name upmarket, is made in Mexico. It's a great car, but again, it disappointed me in Ford.
I would call the best medium duty commercial truck engines the Cummins ISB 5.9 and ISC 8.3, and the International DT466E.
I would call the best medium duty commercial truck automatic transmission the Allison 3000 series and the best manual transmission the Eaton/Fuller 6000 series.
I thought the Ford 500 sounded much better than Taurus, then along came Mr. Boeing and he changed it back to the lame Taurus.
