Rival, 1700lbs rated sounds about right. Either way, it is nominally based on the gvw limit of the vehicle.
If one thinks about it, does it sound at all unreasonable to add 400lbs load to each wheel over an empty vehicle? Nope, but people who don’t understand vehicles but only understand following “rules” will say that’s too much but they don’t know why.
So that said, the conservative approach is to follow all “ratings”. However know that many/all “ratings” are quite conservative.
Example, you could be asking about a 1/2 ton truck and you’d get the same response from the conservative, don’t understand, but want to process their baseless opinions crowd.
