The point I was trying to make is that trucks, being exempt from lot of safety requirements don't have to follow the requirements that apply to cars.
I was shopping for new truck in 2016 and remember those MY of Fords had TPMS optional, or not really fully developed, but waiting for 2017 model made them standard and fully working. That's 11 years after the requirement become mandatory for cars.
To my understanding adding TPMS for trucks is still voluntary, but I don't shop for new truck anymore.
What makes me more worry is that following VW scandal, now all diesel manufacturers are on the block for cheating on ECU programs.
Obviously Europeans manufacturers get the first beating, but when it will come to Ford and other diesel trucks?
