Notice the two wine glasses in the cup holder indentations of that tailgate...who has wine glasses on their tail gates... ??? A maybe a can of beer while working, but think most employers would frown on that during work hours...heck even doing stuff around the house/properties/etc...never allow folks helping me drink alcohol till AFTER the job is done...
The real problem was that Ford has a patent on their tailgate step. So all GM could do was make fun of it until they could come up with some design that wouldn't infringe on the patent. So this is what they came up with which looks far more costly and complex than the Ford design.
Wonder if it has power close? Looks like it could be a pain to close to lift the weight from knee high, but perhaps they have some assist in there.
