The numbers keep rising, but the facts remain the same. You have to look at the pin weight for a 5er, EG. Just because the truck can pull it easily (GCWR) does not mean it can carry it in the box (GVWR and RGAWR, and Tire rating)
Especially true for Diesel trucks--heavy engine eats GVWR, leaving less for carrying pin weight, but better for going up mountains without dropping shift gear.
You have to compromise on all things to come out just right.
Don't forget that bumper pull rating has nothing to do with what you can actually pull per GCWR.
The thing that has not changed over the years on this, is that "BS baffles brains" is still true. :(
