Right past the 2 minute mark they say that it is using the truck and trailer brakes and also making the lights come on both.

Missed that part.
I personally would want to disable the trailer braking if I want to. From my weights and knowing I can hold 34k on 14% grade the test truck should have held without the trailer braking.
On your Ram does the boost gauge read reverse HP while the exhaust brake is working? What is the highest value you've seen it display?
