Yeah, I was thinking my '16 Ram 3500 6.7 would be my last truck, but I'm have serious 2nd thoughts now.
Except that it will get less than half the fuel economy of your CTD; I'll stick with the CTD thanks! ;) - minnowExplorer

Not really because a hot rod 7.3 making 600hp would be much cooler!
You have to watch out for white Teslas though...
Tesla vs fast street cars
I will race the Tesla truck....... towing 12k for 350 miles. - danrclemExplorerI don't think this discussion has anything to do with Teslas.

- 4x4ordExplorer IIIBy the time a person covers the cost of modifying the 7.3 to get 600 HP would he not be further ahead buying a diesel and throwing a tuner on it?
- ShinerBockExplorerI will say that doing mods like these will increase emissions output of these engines by a considerable amount similar to deleting a diesel especially with the tuning . The only difference is that he is likely emitting more CO, CO2, and more NOx than stock that cannot be seen while diesels emits more NOx and PM that can be seen.
Not saying this is wrong or bad, just putting it out there because people tend to chastise diesel owners for doing the same thing yet give gasoline hotroders a pass all because diesel emission can be seen and gas emissions can't yet they cause more harm to the environment. The second people mention deleting a diesel, someone talks about emissions yet not one person says a word when it is a gas engine even though it is emitting more greenhouse gases than the diesel. Not trying to start a diesel and gas war here, just pointing out the fact that this is no different than deleting a diesel. - danrclemExplorer

It didn't take hotrodders very long to start working on this engine.

It was rumored that the 7.3 would be mod friendly, but I didn't expect the better part of 200hp with mostly bolt on parts.
That's seriously cool!
Pushrod engines aren't dead! And they're not 4' wide like OHC motors.
Yeah, that is a short list of parts for an additional 200hp. Usually it takes forced induction or at least $10k in parts to get that kind of bump out of an N/A engine.
I agree. The hp. gain is over 39% and considering that it already has 430 hp. that's a lot.
