2020 GM 2500HD Dead Weight Hitch Tongue only 500 lbs ?

Where can I find the 2020 GM 2500HD Dead Weight Hitch - Max Tongue Wt specification ? (Not for a Weight Distributing Hitch)
I can Not seem to find it on the General Motor website.

For example:

Is it really only 500 lbs ?

But that does not say whether the 1850 lbs is for a weight distributing hitch or a weight carrying hitch. On my 1/2 ton truck hitch label there is a huge difference 1500 lbs WDH vs 600 lbs weight carrying.

    Do 2020 GM's have hitch labels ?

I don't think all of them make that distinction. I'm pretty sure my Ram is rated for 1800 lbs, WDH or not.

  • Door sticker has everything you need. So many buyers don’t review it prior to purchasing.
  • That VIN decoder webpage really isn't vehicle specific even though you put in your VIN number. Many of the specs provided on that webpage show the same for all GM trucks. For instance, I have a 2020 2500HD Duramax Crew Cab standard box. When I use the decoder webpage with my VIN number it shows the same 500 pound rating but on the actual sticker it gives the vehicle specific numbers. This sticker is from my truck.
  • Standard bumper rating only, not made to really be used as is need to add a real hitch.
