2020 Models

Looking at the triple slide campers but will wait for the 2020 models out in Spring. Eagle Cap stated that the 1165 and 1200 will have the same layout as 2019 but they are leaning toward the modern interior and exterior of the 2019 Adventurer 50th Anniversary Edition, but would not give any other details. Host has no changes in their Mammoth or Everest, but a 5% increase in price. I don't mean to rant, but Host came out with the telescoping coffee table in 2017 and some updated finishes in 2018, but really nothing since. There are still a couple of 2018s, and lots of 2019s on dealer lots. Why buy a camper with a 2020 name that is exactly a 2018 camper; however with the 2018 you could beat the dealer up pretty hard on price.

  • Bedlam -- Here is the complete list from Randall. But these are all "options". The base camper itself has not changed.

    • 3 different Off grid packages.
    • lend a hand folding entry handle
    • Nova Kool 12V 9.1 cubic ft refrigerator freezer
    • deeper generator compartment ( to store portable Honda 2200)
    • (qty 2) coax cables from service bay ( 1 to each TV) for portable sat dish
    • (qty 2) 12 V charging stations ( one on each side of the bed

Nothing here would make a 2020 look any different your Mammoth. And there is nothing that does not entail additional cost. Most items I could do myself or pay someone less than the additional cost of the option, without throwing anything away, other than getting the updated refrigerator.

I think Randall created a great product, and it will continue to sell. But I think Host is adverse to change, whether due to their small size, the expense of change, or that they feel the product continues to be better than anyone else without change. But if you look at even the 2013 or 2014, there is really very little difference.

I may still buy a Mammoth, particularly if I do not care for the 2020 Eagle Cap. But likely it will be a 2018 if I can still find one. I noticed in an older post that you also waited for the next model year, and you ended up getting updated interior stains and fabrics. I am jealous. I wish Randall would give me something for waiting!
  • Host brought out more solar, battery and inverter options this year in the Mammoth. Some of the floor plans changed in other models. I’ll be talking with Randall this weekend and see if I can disclose anything else.
  • That's hilarious burningman! But you are not obsolete, you are retro.

Has anyone seen the Adventurer 50th Anniversary Edition, and if so, do you like it? Or is it too modern for the woods?
  • My ‘17 is totally obsolete... in the ‘19, the kitchen electric outlet and the outside grab handle are black instead of white, and the taillights have been rotated 90 degrees. ‘20 might bring new stickers or something, who knows?!
I guess mine was cool for a while...
  • Except the 2021s are supposed to have all kinds of new, updated stuff and...they will cost even more.
  • We are STILL tossing idea's around for full retirement. I want a Mammoth 11.6, Ruthie is undecided and flips back and forth on all kinds of RV's. I guess it will happen when we finally decide to take the jump....lol.
