2021 No Bo 19.5 bent axle

I just returned from a round trip from Savannah to Georgianna, Al., and was having some work done on my trailer, and was informed by the tech that my axle was bent on the right side, and was causing damage to my tire. I did not hit anything on the road, and the only incident of any kind was roling over a 4" curb at my campsite, going about 5mph. Neither my wife or I noticed anything on the drive home (260 miles), and the trailer was not overloaded, fresh, black and grey tanks were empty.

I am curious if anyone else has had issues with their single axle travel trailers?
  • That stinks. But if one wheel is dog tracking then it’s likely bent.
Good news is not too expensive and maybe you can upgrade the axle if it’s maxed out.
  • Yup. Small tires over a curb with a light-wieght axle can easily bend it.

It would be good to figure out what you have now. If you only have a 2200# axle, a 3500# should be an easy upgrade.
  • Most trailer axles are marginal at best, banging over a 4" curb probably bent the axle. Consider replacing it with a stronger part if possible.
  • Not with axles, but bent wheels are somewhat common. Apparently, the way they are packed for shipment to trailer manufacturers makes them easily damaged in transit.
