- blt2skiModeratorYes Fish, he had a trans on the floor. Worked fine!. But had an oil leak in gasket. Took in to fix before warranty went out. Mechanically, worked fine. Both of you are stretching the truth some. IMHO, both of you are also false in comment. Get over it.

You will lose credibility by making these type statements. If you would have said guessing, or if, in that remark, you wouldn't be providing false info.
Yes, you did clear that up, after being confronted.

OUCH!!! That even hurt me Jerry!!! :B
He is actually the one that said the 6 x 6 is just fine and would not make much difference with more gears.
As mentioned WHY in the HE!! change when you have combo's that do the job reliably.
I will repeat, I tow way more weight than most anyone here at 35k combined West Coast and have ZERO reason to want more gears or power. I have owned both trans and I love them both.
The one you felt inclined to install a after market oil pan or the one on the shop floor? I'm confused... :B

Harsh...not intended. Just a tip for a respected member, that many trust to be stating facts, when in this case it wasn't. Good that you asked him!
My opinion...I agree, with the Ram not NEEDING more than a stout 6-speed. I do think similar to others opinions, that since technology continues to advance for Ford/GM, at some point Ram will follow. Right/wrong, it will be considered upgrading the drivetrain and body/frame/styling.:)

It sure would help with improving fuel economy.
And noise level by running lower RPMs. And the simplicity of only having ONE transmission for their HD line. And getting competitive in HP/TQ in the 2500s….. Bionic Man wrote:
