Seems like any decent local tire shop should have been able to give you alternate sizes. You can almost always go 10mm wider than stock with no consequences.

In this case you're going from an 80 aspect ratio to a 75 so the alternate size won't be any taller than OEM.

235/80R17 and 245/75R17 are roughly the same size.
